MVS Console Display and Command Entry

View the current MVS console.

The console shows the last 24 lines on the screen and holds upto 1,000 lines that can be scrolled into view.

If enabled, MVS operator commands may be entered using a one line command window below the main console display. These will be submitted via the Hercules console socket interface directly to MVS as if an operator had typed the command directly on the system console. The command and response will appear in the console window but it may be delayed depending upon the refresh cycle. After a command is entered the acceptance, or otherwise, is indicated in the line below the text entry window.

To pass commands to Hercules preceed the command with a backslash \ character. As a security precation any attempt to pass the "sh" command to Hercules is prevented and a warning message is printed instead.

In the command entry window UpArrow and DownArrow can be used to recall commands entered earlier in this session.
Note that commands are not remembered between sessions, i.e. if the page is refreshed the history will be lost.
